Here it is, the official start of What Fire She Said's series on mixtapes. Say hello to Kamille, our very first contributor.
Words from Kamille:
There isn't a story weaved in between these songs, but these songs have, at one point, provided important episodes of my life the perfect soundtrack.
They may have really happened, or I may have given them a bit of touching up. But hey it's all a matter of perspective, isn't it? When a song hits too close to home, I write it down and listen to it for days on end until I grow weary of it altogether... and then listen to it again and probably wax nostalgic because one does not simply forget and move on from a good story... at least I don't.
I am a person of many moods. I love a good time like everyone does, but but musically, I prefer music that evoke feelings of sadness.
This list has two Radiohead tracks, a Nick Drake, and an Elliot Smith...a few songs you may have heard on my favorite films and TV shows or chanced upon on a radio plug. I carefully picked each one of these for my own and your perusal. Enjoy!
