Monday Mixes: Nullis Verbis

Here's another playlist for Monday Mixes. It's an amazing set of post-rock songs, and if you are not very familiar with the genre yet, this mix will definitely be a good primer for you. The file is a bit large, but we promise it will be worth it! Contributed by Evan Quinay from the Philippines.

Words from Evan:

When music needs no lyrics to have soul.

Pop in your headphones and listen to music where you will not hear any voice from a vocalist. There's been a number of emerging bands these days who perform through their instruments only, catching your soul without uttering a single line or singing poetry of emotions. People term it as postmodern; I just think classical music is returning in another form, in another ensemble. "Nullis Verbis" is Latin for no words, a title I put on this compilation of magnificent songs from some of my favorite artists. They are songs which contain no lyrics (some contains a little bit though), but will still get you hooked with its unique melodies. Verses of emotions? You won't need to hear them anyway. Let their instrument do the talking.

This mixtape has series of fast-paced music to start the playlist, coming to classical-type and electronic in the middle, and epic experimental and hard rock for the ending.
