Wanderland Music Festival 2013

Manila indie music fans have waited a long time for this. And somewhere between their prayers and desperate calls for heed, some indie music God (in this case, Karpos Multimedia) must have taken notice because, fist-in-the-air yes, it's finally happening.

On May 18, put on your best ala-Coachella outfit and your round sunnies, and march on to the Globe Circuit Event Grounds in Makati for Manila's first-ever outdoor indie music festival. It's the first year of what will be an annual festival, too, so that's something to look forward to every summer. Wanderland Fest 2013 will be headlined by five-piece Australian indie-rock band, The Temper Trap, and will be joined by other international indie bands Neon Trees, Nada Surf, Avalanche City, Colour Coding and Tully on Tully. Local favorite acts will be performing as well. There's Yolanda Moon, Pulso, Taken by Cars, She's Only Sixteen, and the all-time favorite, Up Dharma Down, who's received both local and international recognition.

If you get tired of the music (but, come on, of course you won't), trod on over the activities fair to look at some art exhibitions, or maybe for a bull ride, some jousting, a game at the Velcro wall, or--the best part of this whole festival--a ride down a giant inflatable slide!

Tickets are available at Ticketworld (891-9999), SM Tickets (470-2222), and Ticketnet (911-5555), so if you plan on joining in with this summer fun, better grab one now because we hear they're selling fast like pancakes.

Summer just got a little bit hotter this year, and we like it.
