Rejoice! There is another thing to be excited for this season aside from the birth of Jesus Christ--Sufjan Stevens' Christmas Album!
The folk singer from Michigan is known to for his whimsical and sometimes religious songs. And though some are
verging on plain bizarre, ask a fan and they'll tell you they're all beautiful, nonetheless. Last month, however, Sufjan announced that he will be releasing his second Christmas Album,
Silver and Gold: Songs for Christmas. The physical album also comes in a limited edition Christmas box set that includes 5 EPs, Christmas stickers, temporary tattoos, paper ornaments, a Christmas songbook, a Christmas coloring book, Sufjan's own psychedelic art, etc. Find out more about it on
Sufjan's bandcamp page.
The last track on Silver and Gold,
Christmas Unicorn, is nothing short of festive and Sufjan-ish, if you know what we mean. Take a listen here:
On the day of the US election though, Sufjan must have been feeling all sorts of patriotic, for that day, he leaked this wonderful rendition of the his homeland's national anthem.
Silver and Gold officially comes out on November 13th.
