Zedd Moment of Clarity Tour: Manila

Anton Zaslavski, or most famously known as Zedd, has only been in the electronic music scene for a few years, and yet this 24 year old music producer has already conquered not only the charts, but the world as well, having just wrapped up his Moment of Clarity world tour. It's proving to be a good year for Zaslasvski. On top of sold out shows, just early this month, his biggest song, Clarity, reached double platinum status in the US, and was nominated for the 56th Grammy Awards for Best Dance Recording.

Last December 12, MoC Tour Manila finally happened. A year and a half ago, Zedd already played in Manila as opening act for Lady Gaga's Born This Way Ball. This time, though, he was back to rule his own show. The event was held at the SMX Convention Center. The place was packed--it was a sold out show. The process before getting inside the venue was a bit tedious as it was also badly managed, but upon stepping inside, the annoyance kind of quickly slid away. The venue set-up was stunning.

First to take the stage was French music producer, Madeon. Dude's only 19 years old, might I mention, in case you go "who's this little kid spinning?" Yup, that's him.

I do listen to Madeon, and he's actually really good. Whatever he lacks in experience, being as young as he is, he seriously makes up for in skill. Check out his single, Technicolor, right here. During the show, he played remixes of Icona Pop's I Love It, to which the crowd went crazy over, and The Killers' Mr. Brightside, which everyone sang along to. Madeon's set was a chill kind of fun, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Zedd came on an hour after and immediately brought the house down opening with Spectrum. His set was an hour and a half of pure madness. Aside from his original tracks Spectrum, Clarity, Hourglass, Push Play, Stay The Night and Breakin' A Sweat, he also did remixes of Guetta's Titanium, Avicii's Wake Me Up, Icona Pop's I Love It, Capital Cities' Safe and Sound. He ended the set with Spectrum, again, afterwards returning for the encore in which he played Lost at Sea and finally closing with an explosive remix of Empire of the Sun's Alive.

I read a concert review for Zedd's MoC Tour that Alive will really make you feel alive. I couldn't agree more. Everytime I look back at the show, the moment I remember best was when during Alive, and I was looking up with my hands raised in the air, letting the confetti fall on my face. I was just listening while the whole place came together in a beautiful chorus "loving every minute 'cos you make me feel so alive." I couldn't help smiling. Being in such a moment makes you  feel like you are part of something big and wonderful, and for a moment, you feel like you are never truly alone.

Not really familiar with Zedd? That's cool. Here's a video I like to show people who aren't familiar with him simply because it is too awesome:
